The Right Battery for Your Clark Forklift
Clark has been building forklifts longer than almost anyone, which means Clark fleets span decades — a 20-year-old truck working next to a new one is normal. The battery story stays the same across all of them: standard industrial lead-acid packs, sized by the voltage, compartment dimensions, and minimum weight on the data plate.
That fleet age is actually where refurbished makes the most sense. Putting a $6,000+ new battery into a truck worth $8,000 rarely pencils out; a rebuilt pack at 40–60% less keeps an older Clark earning without over-investing in it. And because the battery is a standard part, age of the truck does not limit what we can supply — if the plate is readable, we can match it.
Tell us the model and serial, or send a photo of the plate even if it is worn — we can usually identify the pack from the compartment dimensions alone. Quotes back within 2 hours.
A note on plates: older Clark data plates are often painted over or worn smooth. The battery compartment itself is the backup identifier — interior length, width, and depth plus the connector type narrow the pack to one or two candidates in nearly every case. Measure inside the compartment, not the old battery case.
Clark Forklift Battery Voltage by Class
| Truck class | Typical Clark models | Typical voltage |
|---|---|---|
| Class III — walkies & pallet trucks | WP-series and comparable walkie models | 24V |
| Class I — 3-wheel electric | TMX-series and comparable 3-wheel models | 36V |
| Class I — 4-wheel electric counterbalance | ECX/GEX-series and older comparable models | 36V or 48V |
| Older electric models | Legacy Clark electrics still in service | Match the data plate — we can identify from compartment size |
Always confirm on the data plate. The model family narrows the voltage; your truck’s data plate states the exact voltage, minimum battery weight, and compartment size — the plate decides it. Not sure? Send us a photo and we’ll read it for you.

Clark Forklift Battery Questions
Can you still get batteries for older Clark forklifts?
Yes. Clark electrics — including models decades old — run standard industrial packs that are still manufactured and rebuilt today. If the data plate is worn, measure the battery compartment (length, width, height) and note the connector; that is usually enough for us to identify the correct pack.
What voltage does a Clark electric forklift use?
Walkies and pallet trucks are typically 24V; TMX-class 3-wheel trucks 36V; ECX/GEX-class counterbalance models 36V or 48V. As with every make, the plate on your specific truck is the final word on voltage and minimum weight.
Is a refurbished battery worth it on an older truck?
That is exactly where it is worth it. A new pack can cost most of what an older Clark is worth; a rebuilt pack at 40–60% less — with weak cells replaced and a 12-month replacement warranty — keeps the truck productive without over-capitalizing it.
My Clark’s battery connector looks different — is that a problem?
No — connectors are standard hardware (SB and similar families in several amperages and colors). Tell us what is on the truck or include it in the plate photo and we ship the pack with the matching connector installed.
How fast can you deliver a Clark forklift battery?
Common sizes ship in 3–5 business days with free Southern California delivery, on-site swap available, and $200–$1,500 trade-in credit for the old pack.
How do I identify the battery when a Clark data plate is unreadable?
Measure the battery compartment — interior length, width, and depth — and photograph the connector. Compartment dimensions map to standard industrial tray sizes, so those measurements plus the truck’s class usually identify the pack exactly. We do this for older Clarks weekly.
Do you take old Clark batteries in trade even if the truck is being retired?
Yes — the trade-in program covers packs with or without a replacement purchase. Old lead-acid batteries have real core value; we handle DOT-compliant removal and credit $200–$1,500 depending on size and condition.
